Christmas Eve continued…..
We are all dressed up ready to party. Gary drives all eight of us in the truck , Joolia & the girls brave the back of the truck, to a cocktail bar called Soho in Thong Nai Pan Beach where spend a lively hour or so on Mai Tai’s & Margaritas, Joolia films us all prancing about to Aspens playlist. We all sign our names on the bar, famous for its painted messages. Leaving Thong Nai Pan beach we drive back to our beach. Mike and Roger hop in the back of the truck with Aspen & Logan for the short drive back to Longtail Beach resort for the party. Our table is at the front and directly on the waters edge so a cool breeze keeps the mozzies at bay. Swiftly our cocktails arrive along with our bbq ready plated supper of large tiger prawns, kingfish, chicken , jacket potato and salad. There is far too much and on top of cocktails we can’t do it justice. The strangest feeling sitting in beach clothes at 28c the sound of waves splashing and listening to Christmas music, it’s surreal. The evening continues with a fire dancing display, particularly spectacular as they do it on the waters edge so the fire is reflected on the water and as it is very dark you hardly see the performers. One of the waiters bravely stands between the swirling fires , everyone gasps at the sight. Then Aspen decides to have a go & for a moment I thought she might try and take over!!! The staff at both resorts this evening have been brilliant fun and entertaining. All dressed in Santa hats. A memorable evening.
